Pre-Wedding photoshoots have gained tremendous popularity over the recent years and the couples just take it as one more celebration that is added to their Shaadi tale. This new normal brings with itself its own tantrums, what to wear for the photoshoot being the biggest one. It now seems to be a part of the wedding trousseau shopping and can’t be neglected at all if you want to keep up with the ongoing fashion trends.
While we assume that our audience follows social media religiously and if nothing, at least have a vague idea about what looks good as a pre-wedding shoot outfit, we are definitely not going to tell you that you should wear a nice gown or a classic saree because we know that you know. The main dilemma arises when you have to choose from these given options and that is where we jump in to make your life a bit easy. So, we are all hands in hands, virtually with you on the hunt of your first but the best officially licensed PDA.
We are all a reflection of what is going on in our mind and you would definitely not want to ruin your pictures just because of that discomfort. It might be from anything, wearing an outfit that you think is just too revealing or too loose/tight or striking a currently trending pose that is too awkward to maintain. We suggest you to not fall for such things and choose pre-wedding dresses that are beautiful and breezy, the ones that make you feel at home.
This one is a major highlight that must be kept in mind at all costs. Colours play a vivid role in deciding the fate of a photograph and a correct balance is a must. Wearing colours that are too bright might play with the lens of the camera and produce some non-required light and at the same time may lessen the impact of the background whereas pre-wedding outfits with dull colours fail to add that oomph factor to your picture and make them look lifeless.
For those picture perf shots, dramatic landscapes should be your first go to. India is full of such beautiful locations and they are the first criteria you should match your outfits to. The relation of location and pre-wedding outfits is the same as that of a school and the school uniform; any mismatch and you are punished. To be more transparent, what we mean by this is suppose you are having a chopper shot, the best pre-wedding outfit to suit it is a long trail gown for women and a suit for men, you just can’t do it without them. It is as simple as not doing a palace shot in traditional or a ballroom shot in gowns and 3 piece suit or a bike shot in jackets. After all, You have got to belong to that place to give your all to it.
There is something with these evergreen combinations that never goes out of style and is forever beautiful. Yes, we are talking about the classic combination of white and black dresses or a red saree or an all-white outfit. It’s like we have always dreamt of our pictures in those clothes that they actually never go out of our mind until we dress in them. And this may be one of the reason no matter everyone loves them.
Time and Temperature are like the guests of our pre-wedding photoshoot, you just cant displease them. Deciding what to wear depends so much on what time of the day you are shooting and at what temperatures of course, you don’t want to be all sweaty and get embarrassed wearing a fully covered velvet dress in bright sunlight or get frozen head to toe going backless in a snow-clad backdrop. We, therefore, suggest picking your pre-wedding outfits keeping in mind the temperature and the time like go for a really colourful dress if you are in snow since your background is white or go for those bold solid colours in a night shoot to compliment the time.
The flow here has two meanings. The first one definitely the literal meaning to it, be easy and let the flow decide, let the hair happily disturb your shots, let that dupatta freely play in air, let your real emotions come out and the list never ends. But what we secondly mean here is go for pre-wedding outfits that are really flow-y especially for a day shoot. Those extra layers of cloth will do wonders to your photographs, mark our words.
Extra stripes and prints create an illusion on the lens that distorts the actual look of your outfit and may end in making you look unreasonably fat or lean from a particular place which is a big drab!
Playing with bold colours can definitely be the show stopper for you. Bold colours enhance your beauty in a way that is really soothing to the eyes and is essential for those dinner dates kinda pictures all lost in each other’s world.
India is a land of such celebrated cultures and races that it itself gives you all those vibes that makes pictures eternally beautiful. Going for a pre-wedding photoshoot in India and not including those Indian Outfits on your list is an opportunity missed. Our topmost suggestion is to go to Rajasthan, get all clad up in a purely traditional outfit and have yourself clicked in those larger than life kingly palaces, or dress like those desert tribal people and dance your heart outgoing all candid for some stunning shots while actually feeling your India. These moments will turn into memories you’ll cherish forever.
Involving too many props could prove really messy for your photographs. It might hamper the simplicity of the picture and can just feel really artificial.
No matter in whichever part of India you are born, there must be something special about that place that makes it different from others. For a picture there, dress in a local outfit of your place or state and get that legacy going.
Vintage Picture is an ongoing trend of the pre-wedding jargon and what can better define vintage than a retro look. That highly puffed hair, ribbon hairbands, bold exotic blingy colours, vintage cars and scooters, voluminous tight tops with ethnic prints and earthy hues, hip-hugger jeans, gauzy dresses will all be really fun to try on but remember, they should still be sober and should not end up making your future generations roll on floors with laughter.
While we really believe coordinated outfits should be tried upon, we are clearly not sure about those exact same customized clothes couples wear to their photoshoots. One reason is they are really outdated and the second one is they don’t actually signify anything about your relationship or your individuality. Instead, the focus should be to coordinate with your surroundings so that the picture on a whole looks adorable. Still, if you want to try them, we would suggest you to add that little personal touch to them so that down the line when you look at them after years you don’t actually laugh at yourself.
Just as we mentioned above, don’t do something just because it’s trending. While it is important to be fashionable, it is even more important to be reasonable.
The Photoshoot can really take up on you since we are not someone who is regularly used to of being in front of cameras. There might be times when your shots are do not look nice at all and you are all messed up in your head wanting the shoot to just end. But believe us, the output will be good only if you give it your best and handle it calmly.
Pictures are all about the right angles and knowing that about yourself can really help both of you to look flawless and stunning.
Photographers may push you a bit too much for that one perfect shot and there are full chances of you getting annoyed over it, especially the boys out there. Just one thing to say, it is all about making you look mesmerizing, no one else gains.
